Mindfulness Meditation Sundays at 5:00 pm with Prairie Wind Sangha
“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace, and love.” — Thich Nhat Hanh
Prairie Wind Sangha is an inclusive and diverse community grounded in the mindfulness practices of Thich Nhat Hanh, the internationally recognized Zen Master, author, poet, and peace activist.
The Prairie Wind Sangha community has been practicing together since 2002, and there is a wide range of meditation experience within the group. Some have been practicing meditation for years, others have recently begun. It could be said that we are all beginners every time we practice, because we have never experienced “this moment” before!
Our weekly gatherings include sitting meditation and walking meditation, plus a variety or other activities. These could include a talk, a reading, a group discussion or deep relaxation body meditation.
There is no fee, just a donation basket for those who wish to help cover expenses. Most people wear street clothes, some wear yoga clothes. We maintain a relaxed, yet mindful, atmosphere. People of all faiths, no faith, and all lifestyles are welcome! Mindfulness is a human activity, not just a Buddhist practice!
