Sister Ellie Finlay is a solitary nun in the Anglican tradition. An experienced spiritual director and retreat conductor, Sister Ellie's background includes traditional convent life as well as training in theology, counseling and spirituality. She has studied with meditation teachers from several major religious traditions and now specializes in the theory and practice of meditative practice.
She lived in both Ireland and South Africa before coming to Oklahoma in 1996. While in South Africa, she studied the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism at a dharma center in Cape Town where she received intensive training in meditation and mind training. Her refuge lama is Ringu Tulku Rinpoche. Sister Ellie is executive director of St. John's Center for Spiritual Formation, an interfaith meditation center, and lives in Tulsa.
